Today is World Aids Day. it is a time for us to come together to remember those we have lost to HIV/AIDS and to raise awareness and to show solidarity with support for people living with HIV.⁠

This year marks 40 years since the first reported case of AIDS in 1981. The first World Aids Day was observed seven years later in 1988. We have made so progress much progress since then, but the impact of the HIV/AIDS crisis has not gone away, and continues to affect our community every day.⁠

On this World Aids Day, stop by HBC for an Ole Prospector’s Red Ribbon Ale. In observance of World Aids Day and to raise awareness of the issues surrounding HIV/AIDS, we'll be donating $2 for every of Red Ribbon Ale that's sold during the month of December to the Being Alive organization. ⁠

Since 1993, Being Alive has delivered quality, compassionate services to San Diegans affected by HIV and AIDS; and provides education and referral services to those in need. The Agency's goal is not just to help people living with HIV/AIDS, but to help them live well.⁠
